Here goes another photo post. This was a concert by Swiss rapper Greis (of the Chlyklass collective) on May 3, 2008, as part of a “grand opening” of a new club. The event was special in so far as that there was no stage whatsoever; just a four-foot-wide console for the DJ’s very tiny digital turntable. Greis was literally on one level with the crowd (and less than an arm’s length away from me) and walked around the entire venue while emceeing. With just over one hour, the show was a bit short for my taste, but three guest MCs, who supported Greis on three different songs, made up for that. Beatwise, the gig was run by DJ Claud, producer of—among others—Sektion Kuchikäschtli.
If you wanna get a feel for the Greister’s tunes, here’s an awesome slapper from his latest album aptly titled “2″ (because it’s his second LP). The album is rather special. It’s a two-disc record with French and Swiss German versions of the songs. Basically, it’s two albums in one. Curse, Rasco, and others are featured. Order those silver discs right here.

And now off to them photos. (Click for large.)

Greis w/ Bensch. They were hopping around so fast I couldn’t get a decent shot of them.
More after the jump.
En guete,
